Christina Ricci recently nominated for a Golden Globe Yellow Jacketsand Midnight Mass star Hamish Linklater to star in true crime documentary series Chop ShopThe story is set in the funeral business of the San Fernando Valley in the 1980s.
Inspired by the book of the same name by Cathy Braidhill, the series tells the chilling and twisted story of Lamb Funeral Home in 1980s Los Angeles. When Machiavellian David Sconce, the son of a Bible school football coach and a church organist, takes over the running of the family business, the seemingly all-American family begins its astonishing fall from saints to sinners. In an attempt to keep the funeral home afloat, Sconce devises a sinister new business strategy involving human harvesting and mass cremation. The screenplay paints a chilling portrait of the era's neon arrogance over greed, where insatiable ambition turns a former football star into a Southern California sociopath.
