Earlier this year, local chefs Alexander Bradowski and Christopher Bradowski, both culinary arts instructors at North Georgia Tech, were each awarded the President’s Award in recognition of their dedication to Georgia education and outstanding service to their chapter.
The award was presented at the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Atlanta Chefs Association (ACA) Presidential Gala held at the Ansley Golf Club in Atlanta.
The event also presented Diane Rucker, a culinary arts major from Hartwell, with the “Student Chef of the Year” award, marking the third consecutive year that an NGTC student has received this honor.
Additionally, NGTC culinary arts students Rucker, Ramon Fuentes of Alto, Victor Sharp of Mount Airy and Christina Smith of Mount Airy helped prepare a four-course meal for the event along with Annesley Golf Club’s executive chef Shannon Farmer and chef Christopher Bradowsky, who currently serves as first vice president of the ACF-ACA chapter, and Alexander Bradowsky, who serves as treasurer.
NGTC Dean of Academic Affairs Christy Bivins said, “We are extremely proud of our students' accomplishments at the Atlanta Chefs Association Presidential Gala. Christopher and Alexander Bradowski's Presidential Award win is a testament to their dedication and leadership. Additionally, Diane Rucker's selection as Student of the Year highlights her hard work and exceptional dedication to her future career. Christopher and Alexander's roles with ACF demonstrate the tremendous impact our students are making in the culinary community, and their volunteer work and passion for their profession exemplify the values NGTC strives to instill in our students.”
Alexander Bradowski stated, “It was a fantastic evening. Both Chris and I are completely surprised by the great honor of receiving the President's Award. Diane Rucker has been involved with several events for the chapter over the past few years and we are thrilled to see her being recognized for her academic achievements and community contributions. NGTC was well represented at the awards ceremony and was warmly welcomed by the staff at Annesley Golf Club. Our students and alumni have an excellent reputation among chefs and employers in North Georgia, and we have received special requests for our students from some of Atlanta's top restaurants.”
