A cozy beach house is up for sale for eight figures on celebrity-favorite Figure Eight Island, a North Carolina island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway that's often likened to New York's Hamptons.
The 1,300-acre private island, accessible only by boat or a private, gated, and guarded drawbridge, is home to approximately 475 homes as well as a marina and members-only yacht club.

Many celebrities reportedly own property on the island, including actresses Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Ben Stiller, as well as politicians Al Gore and John Edwards, former Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack, and University of North Carolina football head coach Mack Brown.

Beach Road North homes are positioned so that residents can enjoy open views of the Intracoastal Waterway from the back, while the front of the home faces the water, Serhant Real Estate Broker Alex McKinney said. “The beach is right there.”
The four-bedroom home was built in the mid-1980s and was fully renovated in 2022. It will be sold fully furnished.
The first floor will have two covered parking spaces, “two huge outdoor showers that can accommodate a total of six people,” storage space and an elevator up to the living areas, McKinney said.

The home comes with membership to the Figure Eight Island Yacht Club, which the listing says you can join at a discount. Membership is only available to island residents.

McKinney said it's about 15 minutes to the airport, 25 to 30 minutes to downtown Wilmington and 20 minutes to Cinespace Wilmington Studios.
In downtown Wilmington, he said, “a great project that's happening now is Cargo West,” a food hall in a shipping container that's an “extension of the Cargo District” that will house housing and office space, restaurants, pop-up shops and event space.
Nearby golf courses and country clubs include Eagle Point Golf Club and Porters Neck Country Club.
