President Joe Biden flew to Los Angeles on Saturday for a fundraiser with A-list celebrities as he tries to rally support for his Democratic rival with less than five months until the 2024 election.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Biden campaign event will feature celebrities such as former President Barack Obama, George Clooney and Julia Roberts. The Biden campaign expects to raise about $28 million from the star-studded event, making it the largest one-night fundraiser ever for a Democratic candidate.
According to the LA Times, attendees at Biden's Saturday night celebrity fundraiser can pay $250 for the cheapest ticket, up to $500,000 for four seats in the first three rows. The most expensive ticket also includes a photo opportunity with Biden and Obama and an invitation to the afterparty.
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is scheduled to interview Biden and Obama on Saturday night to discuss the upcoming election, and celebrities expected to attend Biden's fundraiser include Jason Bateman, Jack Black, Kathryn Hahn and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
Biden's Los Angeles event came after his opponent, Donald Trump, held three fundraisers in California that his campaign estimated raised $27.5 million, according to Fox News. Last week, Trump reportedly raised $12 million at a fundraiser in heavily Democratic San Francisco.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, released his huge fundraising figures shortly after his conviction in a New York hush-money case, in which he was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Earlier this month, Eric Trump told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that his father had raised more than $200 million since his conviction.
While Biden will be mingling with Hollywood A-listers, Trump will travel to Detroit to participate in a roundtable discussion at a local church and speak at Turning Point USA's People's Conference, reported Fox 2. The Trump campaign slammed Biden's Los Angeles fundraiser as “naive celebrity benefactor.”

“President Trump will be campaigning and meeting with ordinary Americans in Detroit, Michigan, a city that has been devastated by Joe Biden's failed policies,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Chang said, “Meanwhile, Biden will be attending glitzy fundraisers in Hollywood with the elitist, naive celebrity backers who own him.”
