vinegarHe said there are some celebrities who are exceptions — step forward, Beyoncé! — and that she often feels out of place in the same room as legendary stars.
She said, “I'm really small and I have acne and I have braces on the back of my teeth and I'm standing next to Mariah Carey in all her diamonds, and Beyoncé was so nice to me.”
During the same interview, Miley also shared some surprising insight into her relationship with Dolly Parton, 78. Miley said that her godmother, Dolly, stepped in to guide her ahead of her now-iconic performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she stole the crowd with her hit song “Flowers.”
She said: “[Dolly] “She's not afraid to have difficult conversations. The difficult conversation I had with her was, 'I'm not sure if I should go to the Grammys.'”
“And she said, 'Of course you're going to be at the Grammys. Not just attending, but showing off. And you're going to be all of that, sitting in front of me right now.'
Thankfully, Miley followed her advice. She delivered an unforgettable rendition of Flowers that night, taking home the awards for Best Pop Solo and Record of the Year. Meanwhile, Miley opened up about how Dolly has influenced other aspects of her life. The 31-year-old has spoken out before about her choice to not have children, and in a new interview, the Flowers hitmaker said she looked up to her mentor and godmother, Dolly, for her decision.
“I like being grown up. I have a rule that I never look anyone up or down. I just look and see the world as it is and people as they are,” Miley explained.
