Former Boston Celtics, current New England Patriots and one of the stars of the upcoming movie “The Instigators” set to shoot in Boston will gather at TD Garden to watch Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals between the Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.
Ten former Celtics players will be on hand to watch Game 5, including power forward Grant Williams, who played for both the Celtics and Mavericks before being traded to the Charlotte Hornets in February. Many former Celtics players who were at TD Garden for Games 1 or 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals will be back for Game 5, including Dana Barros, Tacko Fall, Eddie House and Leon Pow.
Rapper/actor Jack Harlow, one of several musicians sitting courtside for Game 5, was back in Boston after filming the Matt Damon/Casey Affleck heist comedy The Instigators there, scheduled for release in 2023.
Who else has successfully made the transition from chart-topping musician to actor? Celtics courtside regular Donnie Wahlberg will perform alongside New Kids on the Block singer Joey McEntire in Game 5.
For Game 5, coach Jim Montgomery will join Brad Marchand and Matt Grzelik in featuring three Bruins players.
Meanwhile, for the Patriots, linebacker Ja'Waan Bentley will return for another game, as will rookie quarterback Drake Maye.
Located on the border between athlete and entertainer is Boston-born professional wrestler Mercedes Monet, currently with AEW Wrestling.
