NEW BRIGHTON, Pa. — A severe storm hit New Brighton, Beaver County, Monday night.
Uprooted trees lined both sides of 3rd Avenue and debris was strewn across yards.

Channel 11 captured footage of the truck, with power lines on top, appearing to have been abandoned in the middle of the road.
The roof of an automobile company was torn off.
Doug Inman has lived on 3rd Avenue in New Brighton for 28 years. He and his wife were inside their home when a large tree in their front yard fell onto their porch.
“We were just inside the house getting ready to make dinner and we heard a loud noise and it was raining heavily and hail so we went outside and saw the tree had snapped,” Inman said.
He said that after the storm passed, electrical wires outside his house were smoking and the smell drifted inside the house.
Other New Brighton neighbours stayed away from the area until things calmed down.
“I saw that there was a bad storm coming into Beaver County and I ran into the storm and couldn't get home. I live in New Brighton but I have a daughter in Monaca so I thought 'I've got to go there!'” Norma Coast said.
After the storm passed, neighbors and their children came outside to check on the damage, including trees that had fallen on cars.
The cleanup will take some time, but local residents are relieved that people are safe.
“The good thing is nobody got hurt and that's the most important thing,” Inman said.
