President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will face off this week in the first debate of the 2024 presidential election.
The two front-runners for this year's White House are well-known figures in both political and media circles, and will take part in a 90-minute debate in Atlanta that will be slightly different from previous presidential debates in that there will be no studio audience, according to CNN, which will be hosting the debate.
The first in-person debate is still giving many a sense of 2020 deja vu. Here are the dates and times for the debate and where you can stream it:

The first presidential debate will take place on Thursday, June 27th at 9pm ET/8pm CST from CNN studios in Georgia.

In addition to not having an audience in the studio, the two campaigns have agreed not to interact with campaign staff, not to use notes and not to interrupt each other during the debate, according to a CNN statement.
Microphones will be muted except when candidates are speaking, and the network said the moderators will “take every measure to ensure punctuality and a civil debate.”

In addition to Biden and Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running as an independent and Chase Oliver is running for the Libertarian Party.
Kennedy and Oliver will not participate in the debate.

According to CNN, to be eligible to participate, presidential candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Meet the requirements set out in Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution
- File a candidacy form with the Federal Election Commission
- A candidate's name must appear on the ballots of enough states by the qualification deadline to reach the 270 electoral vote threshold required to win the presidency.
- Agree to accept the rules and format of the debate
- Receive at least 15% support in four national polls of registered voters or likely voters that meet CNN's reporting standards.

Trump and Biden are the presumptive Republican and Democratic presidential candidates, and are expected to be formally nominated by their respective parties at their respective conventions this summer.
The Democrats plan to formally nominate their presidential candidate in a virtual roll call before the Democratic National Convention or at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August. The Republicans plan to formally nominate their presidential candidate at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July.
