It is still unclear which celebrities and influencers Google plans to partner with, and whether the feature will be rolled out to the public in the coming days.
Google is reportedly working on developing AI-powered chatbots based on popular celebrities and popular YouTube influencers, with the tech giant appearing to be following in the footsteps of two other similar services, companies like Meta and startups like Character.ai.
According to a recent report: informationGoogle's upcoming chatbots will be powered by Gemini, a large-scale language developed in-house. Additionally, the tech giant said it is trying to get a number of celebrities and influencers on board, and will also allow users to create their own chatbots, a feature already available to Character.ai users.

However, it remains to be seen which celebrities and influencers Google plans to partner with. Reports suggest that the project is being led by a team of 10 people, including Ryan Germick, an executive who works on the Google Doodles team. Rumors suggest that the new feature will initially be available as part of Google Labs.
For those unfamiliar, Character.ai is a startup that allows users to create their own AI-powered chatbots that can impersonate popular celebrities. Last November, it was reported that Google was in talks to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Character.ai.
Meta launched a similar service last year that lets users talk to celebrities and influencers, including Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, MrBeast and Dwyane Wade. However, these chatbots are not based on the real lives of celebrities and only infer the personalities of fictional characters.
