Her recent feuds with celebrities such as the Beckhams and George Clooney could impact the success of her new podcast.
Meghan Markle's recent spat with A-list celebrities could threaten the future success of her podcast, a celebrity expert has warned.
The Duchess of Sussex, 42, signed with Lemonada Media in February after her contract with Spotify was abruptly terminated.
Celebrity PR specialists highlighted the importance of social networks in Hollywood and urged Meghan to be mindful of her relationships. Kayleigh Cornelius of Betfred told Express.co.uk: “There is a pronounced clique culture among Hollywood celebrities, and social networks and connections can have a huge impact on career trajectories. Belonging to a reputable group can open the door to coveted roles, high-profile collaborations and media attention. Relationships in Hollywood often extend beyond personal connections into professional alliances, and who you know can be just as important in determining your success as your talent and hard work.”
Cornelius stressed that Meghan's public feuds with celebrities such as the Beckhams and George Clooney could negatively impact her future projects: “With this in mind, Meghan's recent public feuds with celebrities will no doubt have a knock-on effect and may deter others from working with the Duchess, concerned about how it might affect their reputation.”
For Meghan's new podcast to be a success, “Meghan and her team will have to offer something truly fresh. The success of Meghan's new podcast will depend on a variety of factors, including marketing, guests and topics discussed,” Cornelius said.
Meghan's deal with Spotify ended after just 12 episodes. Spotify's head of podcast innovation, Bill Simmons, criticized the couple, calling them “fucking scam artists.” Meghan and Harry produced fewer than 13 hours of content over the course of their three-year contract. But their new deal with Lemonada represents a new phase for the couple. A statement on their website reads, “We're proud to join the incredible team at Lemonada and continue our love of podcasting.”
