Global reinsurance broker Marsh McLennan has appointed Sarah Triggs to the newly created role of Marsh McLennan UK Healthcare Industry Leader.
Triggs will be based in London and is due to join the firm in the third quarter of 2024, reporting to Charles Beresford Davis, industry leader for Marsh McLennan's UK division.
Commenting on the appointment, Beresford Davies said: “Sarah is widely recognised as one of the industry's leading advisors on the unique risks currently facing the UK health and social care sector, including increasing complexities around regulation, resilience, costs and access to public health services.”
“Her deep understanding of these challenges and opportunities will be crucial in supporting Marsh McLennan clients as they navigate the significant changes occurring within the UK healthcare industry.”
In this role, Triggs' responsibilities will include leading a new collaborative effort to deliver the extensive resources and comprehensive solutions of Marsh McLennan's businesses, including Marsh and Mercer, to clients in the public and private healthcare sectors.
Mr Triggs has over 28 years experience in the professional health and social care sector and has third sector expertise having worked in insurance underwriting, broking, claims and health and safety leadership roles throughout his career.
Most recently, he was Aon's UK health and social care industry leader, a role he will hold from 2022. Prior to that, he spent four years at Willis Towers Watson, most recently as UK health and social care practice leader and within the specialist care division of Bollington Care (now AJ Gallagher).
Christopher Bailey, UK regional leader for Marsh Mercer Benefits, added: “The addition of a healthcare industry leader with Sarah's talent and experience to Marsh McLennan will enable us to create innovative new solutions at a time when people risk has risen to the top of our clients' corporate agendas.”
“Sarah's deep understanding of the sector will help us unify the healthcare supply chain and address the societal challenge of access to healthcare.”
