TULSA, Okla. — Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared on FOX23 News on Wednesday for a lengthy, unedited interview about the 2024 presidential race.
Kennedy won votes in Oklahoma earlier this year and has consistently been polling at least 10 to 15 percent of the vote nationally, but his poll numbers have risen in recent months, especially after last week's debate between former President Donald Trump (Republican) and President Joe Biden (Democrat).
Kennedy said he has a path to winning 270 electoral votes once all states have cast their votes in November by the end of August, and believes he can match or even surpass the number of votes won by independent candidate Ross Perot in the 1992 presidential election.
While coverage of the presidential election has focused on incumbent President Joe Biden (Democrat) and former President Donald Trump (Republican), in the interest of fairness, FOX 23 invited both Kennedy (Independent) and Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver, who have both officially qualified to vote in Oklahoma, to do an extended, unedited interview.
Kennedy is the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated the night he won the Democratic presidential nomination in 1968 and secured the delegates needed to win the nomination. He is also the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy. FOX 23 spoke with Kennedy about his policy stances and reflects on his family's legacy in American politics.
