Actor Prince David Osei calls on celebrities to get involved in politics

Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei, has taken to social media to express his views on the role celebrities should play in politics.

Osei, who is known to be a supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), stressed the importance of active participation in decision-making processes regardless of rank.

“As a public figure, I have a unique perspective on politics. I am willing to serve, even if it means personal sacrifice. I am driven by my determination to pay whatever price is necessary,” Osei wrote.

“My motivation comes from this unwavering determination. While I can't speak for other celebrities, I strongly believe that each of us should be an active participant in the decision-making process. Regardless of status, our voices carry weight, and this mindset is shared by our followers, who often turn to us for advice.”

Osei further stressed the need for public figures to contribute to the debates that shape society.

“It is essential that we all contribute to the discussions that shape the world we live in. Let's embrace our responsibility and influence to make society better,” he added. He also called for respectful debate, saying, “Insults will not bring about the change we seek! Let's get to work, respecting everyone's opinions and expressing them without ill will!”

The actor's comments have sparked a debate about the influence of celebrities in the political sphere and their responsibility in the public sphere.
