Veteran actor Eric Roberts, brother of Julia Roberts and father of Emma Roberts, has kept quiet about his famous family.
When “Still Here Hollywood” podcast host and entertainment journalist Steve Kmetko asked him how his sister was doing on the April 1 episode of his show, the “Dark Knight” actor replied, “You'll have to ask her.”
“I love my sister, but I can't talk about her, and she doesn't want to talk about it,” said Roberts, 68. “And my daughter told me not to talk about her, but I do. I shouldn't talk about either my sister or her, but I do.”
The interview began circulating on social media three months after it was released after the podcast shared a video on Instagram on Monday of Roberts praising Emma Roberts' talent.
When asked later in the episode about actors he admires, the Oscar nominee replied, “I've been falling in love with my daughter's acting lately. I can't believe what an incredible actor she's become. I'm so proud of her I can't even stand straight.”

He added, “From her performance in Maybe I Do to now, she just makes me so proud. I'm like, 'Oh my God, here she is again!' She's an incredible performer and I'm so happy and proud to be her dad.”
Maybe I Do is scheduled for release in January 2023 and stars Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and William H. Macy.

Eric Roberts denies helping daughter Emma Roberts' career
Roberts, who has appeared in more than 700 films including 1985's Runaway Train and 2022's Babylon, is not responsible for Emma Roberts' successful career.
He said it had “absolutely nothing to do with” her Hollywood roles, “I just gave her that name.”
Emma Roberts, who grew up visiting Julia Roberts on set, rose to stardom in the Nickelodeon series “Unfabulous,” which aired from 2004 to 2007. She has since appeared in “Scream Queens,” “American Horror Story” and “Madame Web.”
She also stars in the Amazon film “Space Cadet,” a comedy in which she plays a bartender who is admitted into an astronaut training program under false pretenses, co-starring Gabrielle Union and Tom Hopper.

In an interview with Flaunt magazine published last week, the 33-year-old actor rejected the “nepo babies” label applied to the children of celebrities who appear to benefit from their family's industry ties.
“I've lost more jobs than I've gained because of being in this industry,” Roberts said. “People have opinions, and sometimes they're not good opinions of their own families. I've never gotten a job because of it. I've definitely lost jobs because of it.”
