This week's episode of College Hill: Celebrity Edition brings midterm drama to the fore. With exams looming, the group travels to Mardi Gras with Dr. Sinegal Decuir to tackle the Zulu parade assignment. They must interview and photograph participants to learn about the parade's history, but are confronted with the jarring sight of white people in blackface, which Carlos Miller is shocked by, but which is culturally acceptable to the locals.
The crew, except for Saucy Santana, who stayed home aboard the float, soaked in the experience and gained a deeper understanding of the culture, which Carlos admitted was not what he expected.
Back home, while the other students are preparing for their presentations, Saucy announces that he is going to see his “tutor” again, things escalate when Saucy comes home late at night and annoys everyone with his rowdy behavior.
At school, final exams begin well, but a philosophical debate about happiness heats up. The women turn against the men, and tensions rise when Claudia Jordan accuses Nick Young and Carlos of self-medicating for happiness. Nick retaliates by calling Claudia a colorist, sparking an emotional confrontation. Claudia tearfully admits that she was hurt by past accusations, and Nick admits that he used them to hurt her.
Despite the tension, they make amends as usual, but Saucy's eccentricities put him in a precarious position. The final hurdle before the midterm elections is to introduce a homeless bill to the senator, but Saucy is surprisingly there. Will they succeed? We'll find out next week.
