Shannen Doherty's friends and former co-stars have paid tribute to the late actress.
In a statement to USA Today, Alyssa Milano paid tribute to her “Charmed” co-star Doherty, who died on Saturday at age 53 after a years-long battle with cancer.
“It's no secret that Shanann and I had a complicated relationship, but underneath it all was someone I deeply respected and respected,” Milano said. “She was a talented actress, beloved by many, and the world would not be the same without her. My condolences go out to all who loved her.”
Doherty, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, passed away “surrounded by her loved ones and her dog Bowie”, her publicist Leslie Sloane confirmed.
In December, “Charmed” star Holly Marie Combs and Doherty claimed Milano had Doherty fired from her Warner Bros. show. Milano denied the allegations, saying she “doesn't have the authority to fire anyone,” but Doherty said she felt compelled to speak out about the feud because she's in the middle of her battle with cancer.

“Because I fight a horrible disease every day of my life, it's really important to me that the truth is actually told, not the narrative that other people have created for me,” Doherty said at MegaCon Orlando in February. “We're going to tell it together, tell our truth, and stand by our truth.”

'Beverly Hills 90210' co-stars Jason Priestley and Olivia Munn pay tribute to Shannen Doherty
Jason Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh on 'Beverly Hills 90210', paid tribute to his former co-star on Instagram.
“Shocked and saddened to hear of my friend Shannen's passing,” he wrote. “She was a force of nature and she will be missed. Sending love and light to her family during this dark time.”
Gabrielle Carteris, who played Andrea Zuckerman on 90210, wrote, “So young and so sad. Rest in peace Shannon. I know Luke[Perry]loves you with open arms.”
Perry, who played Dylan McKay, the love interest of Doherty's character Brenda Walsh, died in 2019 after suffering a severe stroke. He was 52 years old.
Brian Austin Green, who played David Silver in “Beverly Hills 90210,” posted on his Instagram Story, “Shan. My sister…you always loved me. You were a big part of helping me understand love. I miss you so much right now and I don't know what to do with it. Thank you for the gift that you were.”

Olivia Munn, who revealed she was battling breast cancer earlier this year, said in an Instagram Story that she was “truly heartbroken” by Doherty's death.
“I remember when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, she bravely reached out and invited the world into her journey,” Munn said. “We became instant friends, and honestly, at times it was hard to understand because watching her on '90210' was everything to me when I was 10 years old.”
Mann said Doherty had texted her several months ago to ask how she was doing and offer to help. “As always, Shanann offered her support even though she was in the final stages of her battle with this horrible disease,” Mann wrote, concluding with, “Best of luck my friend.”
Dave Coulier also paid tribute to Doherty, who he said he met while working on “Full House.” “She was sweet and had a beautiful smile,” he wrote on his former Twitter handle X.
The actor added: “Today I also think of the women in my life who I've lost to cancer – my mother, my sister Sharon and my niece Shannon. They were all so strong and beautiful.”
