Donald Trump formally accepted the Republican nomination for president last night and delivered the longest speech in the history of the Republican National Convention.
Trump said: He reluctantly brought up last weekend's assassination attempt before pivoting to rally-style talking points that included claims there was an “invasion” of migrants at the border and that Democrats were stealing the election. [Yahoo News]

movie Twister is out in theaters now, I asked entertainment reporter Taryn Ryder to explain its connection to the 1996 original and what people think of Glen Powell as the franchise's new leading man.
Lily: Is there any connection between this movie and the 1996 one?
Tallinn: All involved have been careful to call it a “new chapter” rather than a sequel. Twister It's not easy to enjoy this film, but I recommend it – the original still holds up!
Lily: You I wrote before Glen Powell is having a movie star moment. Where is he in this?
Tallinn: Glen Powell's summer is upon us. I'm here. He gives a great performance in this movie and will definitely cement his status as a leading actor. Powell also co-stars in the film. Twister'He told me that he wanted to pay tribute to original star Bill Paxton before his death in 2017 and pay tribute to Paxton with this performance.
Lily: So is it worth watching?
