Protective styles, rosy cheeks and embellished tips were all trending last week. While celebrities split between wigs and braids (as expected this season), protective styles haven't lost steam. And speaking of momentum, layered blush and contrasting lips are a reminder of the close ties between the two. Meanwhile, embellished nail decorations put a twist on the classic style, inspiring a midsummer update on the French tip.
Lizzo's layered blush (similar to Thames) was Nudistix Nudies Bloom in Bohemian Rose and Ortega Beauty Ethereal Glow Balm in Rose Quartz, paired with a glossy lip with faux filler. Jourdan Dunn showed off an angelic no-makeup look at Wimbledon, with short hair slicked back with gel, while Missy Elliott's blue eyeliner and Gabrielle Union's brown eyeshadow set off both looks, but apart from that, they shared separate lashes, glossy lipstick and a powdered finish.
Anok Yai's custom units blended green and jade tones to complement her lush skin, and she wore gradient French tips. The centerpiece of Chloe Bailey's St. Lucia Carnival costume was a Queen of Hearts headdress and opal-toned embellished nails. At the end of the week, in which Douchi posed in brushed half-up, half-down crimps, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland opted for bombshell blowouts with their platinum blonde hair and bob, respectively.
