HOLTON (KSNT) – Local businesses will be showing up to the movies.
Holton’s “More Than Lemons” had the opportunity to showcase their glassblowing artwork and skills in numerous scenes in the upcoming independent family comedy film “25 Miles to Normal.”
The indie film is being shot just across the state line in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Owner April Lemon told 27News that not only did it give her a chance to showcase her business, but it also gave her the chance to teach the actors the art of glassblowing.
“I've blown glass a few times at St. Joseph for various events,” Lemon says, “so when they were looking for a glassblower and glass shop owner to set up a scene or two, they thought of me because I'd worked with them before.”
But when she had the chance to work one-on-one with the stars, Lemon expressed how “exhilarating and amazing” the experience was.
“And I helped Michelle learn how to blow glass well enough to do that scene,” Lemmon said. “It was amazing.”
Lemmon himself also appears in the film in a glass-blowing scene alongside American actress Michelle Hurd, and even gets to say a few lines in the scene.
