FiveKamala Harris, the incumbent presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after Joe Biden dropped out of the race, joined the TikTok app on July 25 and is already making an impression.
Harris has posted four videos so far, with over 7 million likes and 2.7 million followers at press time, and his latest video features him and Lance Bass of boy band NSYNC.
Bass looks at the camera and says, “Hey, Kamala. What are you going to say to Donald Trump in November?” Then he looks over to Harris, standing next to him. “Bye-bye, bye-bye,” she says, laughing. Music plays: NSYNC's 2000 song “Bye Bye Bye.”
The post's caption references another lyric from the song, “It's not a lie.”
Harris, 59, appeared on the drag reality competition show with Bass, 45. RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars“I want to be a part of it,” she said, urging Americans to vote. The show aired in the US on Friday but was recorded just weeks before President Biden gave up his reelection bid. One of Harris' other TikTok videos includes footage of her visit to the show.
“Hi everyone, I'm Kamala Harris,” she said on the show. “Every day we see our rights and freedoms under attack, including everyone's right to be who they are and love who they love openly and proudly.”

The video includes bass, Drag Racing Featuring judge Michelle Visage, choreographer Jamal Sims and actors Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Jones.
This is just the latest step in Harris' campaign's strategy to aggressively court young voters, and the latest in the memes that have sprung up around her since Biden endorsed her. Harris addressed the memes in her first video, saying, “I heard recently that I was on the For You Page, so I thought I'd get on there too.”
The memes include references to Charli XCX's album “Brat” (which went viral after the British pop star tweeted “Kamala is a brat”) and digs at her awkward moments as a senator and vice president.
