
After President Biden announced last Sunday that he would not be running for the Democratic nomination in the ongoing presidential election, black celebrities rallied to show their support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Beyoncé, Viola Davis, Cardi B, and most recently Barack and Michelle Obama took to social media to support Harris' new candidacy.
“On behalf of the American people, I thank President Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and his decades of service to our country,” Harris said. statement“I'm honored to have the president's endorsement. Beyonce showed her affection for VP Harris by allowing her to use her song “Freedom” during her first visit to her campaign headquarters in June.
