The Western Pennsylvania University President Search Committee invited three presidential candidates to visit the university's three campuses this week.
The candidates are, in alphabetical order:
• John Anderson, Provost and Vice President/Professor for Academic Affairs, Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah
• Philip Cavalier, Interim President, University of Tennessee at Martin
• Wade West, founding dean of the College of Arts, Georgia State University, Atlanta;

The 26-member search committee is comprised of representatives from PennWest's student body, faculty, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders. Since beginning work in January, the committee has gathered input from a wide range of university stakeholders, reviewed 35 applications and conducted 11 interviews.
Campus visits provide an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and community members to meet each candidate and provide feedback.
Today, West is scheduled to visit the Edinboro campus. The Cavaliers visit on Tuesday, and Anderson is scheduled to visit Edinboro on Wednesday.
After all campus visits, a search committee will meet to consider the feedback and formalize a recommendation to the Penn State Board of Regents, which will make final decisions on the two names submitted to the board. The new president is expected to take office on July 1st.
