Pre-built data connectors and plugins
Connect, index, and sync your corporate data using over 40 pre-built data connectors or Amazon Kendra retrievers, as well as web crawling and direct document uploads.
Amazon Q Business uses built-in semantic document retrieval functionality to ingest content. It also obtains and respects permission information, such as access control lists (ACLs), so that you can manage access to data once it is obtained. Plugins can be configured to perform actions on enterprise systems such as Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk. Admin controls and guardrails
You can configure global controls to give users the option of generating responses from large-scale language models (LLMs) only or from connected data sources. You can specify whether all chat responses are generated using enterprise data only, or whether the application can use the underlying LLM to generate responses if the answer is not found in the enterprise data. You can also block specific words.
Topic-level controls allow you to specify restricted topics and configure behavioral rules depending on the topic, such as responding with enterprise data or blocking completely.

At general availability, Amazon Q Business integrates with a variety of AWS services to help you securely connect and store your data and easily deploy and track access logs.
AWS PrivateLink allows you to securely access Amazon Q Business in your Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) environment using VPC endpoints. Amazon Q Business templates in AWS CloudFormation make it easy to automate the creation and provisioning of your infrastructure resources. You can also use AWS CloudTrail to record actions taken by Amazon Q Business users, roles, or AWS services.
It also supports Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) endpoints based on US and Canadian government standards and security requirements for cryptographic modules that protect sensitive information.

Build and share apps using the new Amazon Q app (preview)
Today, we're announcing a preview of Amazon Q Apps. This is a new feature within Amazon Q Business that allows users in your organization to easily and quickly create AI-powered generative apps based on corporate data, without requiring any prior coding experience.
With Amazon Q Apps, users can easily describe the apps they want in natural language, or leverage existing conversations that Amazon Q Business has helped them solve. With just a few clicks, Amazon Q Business instantly generates apps that perform desired tasks that can be easily shared across your organization.
If you're familiar with PartyRock, you can easily use this no-code builder with the added benefit of connecting to your enterprise data using Amazon Q Business.
