miami: The Miami International Autodrome welcomed a starry morning Sunday as celebrities flocked to Florida's Hard Rock Stadium. The 3rd Miami Grand Prix lived up to its reputation with a historic and exhilarating race. Lando Norris couldn't have chosen a better venue to register his first F1 race and took victory over the dominant Max Verstappen.
The British-Belgian racer defeated Red Bull's three-time F1 champion to claim his first victory with the help of a safety car. Norris took advantage of a red flag situation that brought out the safety car at about half the distance.
The McLaren driver moved to the front row after making a pit stop at a time when other drivers had already stopped. From that moment on he was unstoppable and Verstappen, who started from pole position, was unable to catch him with 27 laps remaining. The Dutch racer had to settle for second place ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
But before the drama unfolded on the circuit, a popular figure was already in the spotlight. Former US President Donald Trump waved to F1 enthusiasts from the McLaren paddock at Norris, where he received a warm welcome from fans.

A memorable day for Rand
This was a memorable day for Lando Norris as he finally achieved his first victory in his 110th Grand Prix. This made him the 114th driver in F1 history to win a Grand Prix.
More than just luck or timing, Norris' victory was based on real pace. His McLaren became the fastest car on track when he pulled out from behind Sergio Perez's Red Bull, which had made an early pit stop for a tire change on lap 17.
