A perfect example is 80-year-old actor Robert De Niro, an acclaimed movie star with a career spanning several decades. For most of his career, he didn't have a reputation as a far-left fanatic like Jane Fonda or Barbara Streisand. However, the situation changed completely when Donald Trump ran for president in the 2016 election campaign.
Weeks before the 2016 election, De Niro threatened Trump, claiming he wanted to “punch him in the face.” Of course the Secret Service should have arrested him, but De Niro was probably given permission because of his status as a left-wing celebrity. In an interview on MSNBC last week, De Niro called President Trump a “truly sick man” with “nothing to save him.” He said President Trump “wants to do the most horrible things imaginable to get the nod from us.”
De Niro called on viewers to “stand up” against Trump. In fact, he called on President Joe Biden to “metaphorically punch him in the face” during the upcoming campaign.
De Niro seems obsessed with inflicting physical harm on President Trump. Maybe it's finally time for the Secret Service to pay him a visit.
