Huangshan, May 19 (Xinhua) In Xitou Town, Shexian Prefecture, in eastern China's Anhui Province, local villagers have had a tradition of making fish-shaped lanterns to pray for a good harvest and good fortune for more than six centuries.
In recent years, Xitou Town has been working to expand new business forms while protecting its intangible cultural heritage. Fish-shaped lanterns of various sizes and materials are made, exhibited, demonstrated, and sold. Other businesses are also being developed, such as study tours with themes such as intangible cultural heritage, related cultural creations, and lantern-making experiences.
