- The “Home Alone” house is back on sale.
- This actual home was used in the 1990 holiday film starring Macaulay Culkin.
- The owner of the red-brick Georgian Colonial home is asking $5.25 million.
The real-life home guarded by fictional character Kevin McCallister in the 1990 Christmas classic “Home Alone” is back on the market, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Now, fans can purchase the red-brick Georgian Colonial home for a bargain price: According to the home's listing on Zillow, the owner is asking $5.25 million.
The home's real estate agent did not immediately respond to Business Insider's inquiries.
This home was the primary filming location for this classic holiday movie
Business Insider previously reported that the Abendsien family purchased the home in 1988 for $800,000 before the current owners bought it in 2012.
While the film crew was shooting “Home Alone,” the Abendsien family lived in a temporary apartment on the second floor.
The Johnsons renovated much of the interior.
When you look at Zillow listings, you see homes with many modern amenities that are very different from the homes many viewers probably remember.
But the Johnsons told the Journal they chose to keep some features that highlighted the iconic scenes from “Home Alone.” Trisha Johnson told the Journal that they kept the front entrance and center staircase where McCallister races down in his sleigh.
“It was in the movie and it's a classic scene,” she said, “and we didn't want to take it out or touch it in any way.”
