A star-studded crowd turned out Sunday night for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, where the Dallas Mavericks took on the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 2-0 series lead.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tweeted his support for the Mavs after their Game 2 victory on Friday night. “See you in Dallas!!” he wrote. The Tyler native kept his promise, appearing courtside with his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
The crowd cheered when the couple was shown on the big screen. Mahomes' friend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was booed when he was shown on screen but received a warmer welcome than he had received a few minutes earlier. Kelce, known to many as Taylor Swift's boyfriend, was also in attendance at Game 2 of the NHL Western Conference Final on Saturday night, when the Dallas Stars faced off against the Edmonton Oilers.
Other celebrities reportedly spotted courtside included singer Ne-Yo, Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki and Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal. Dallas Morning News Mavs reporter Mike Curtis.
Also in attendance were 14-time MLB All-Star and current Timberwolves co-owner Alex Rodriguez and Jimmy Goldstein, an avid NBA fan who has attended more than 5,000 NBA games in person.
Before the game, Nowitzki was seen chatting with Mavs star Luka Doncic, all smiles, and Queen Latifah was seen shaking hands and chatting with Mavs majority owner Miriam Adelson.
