Experienced “Big 4” Consulting Executive to Lead New Portfolio of Services to Accelerate Client Strategic Decision-Making Across Infrastructure Investments and Lifecycle Operations
Overland Park, Kansas, May 28, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Black & Veatch, a global leader in critical infrastructure solutions, has appointed innovation and transformation expert Charlie Sanchez as President of the firm's Strategic Advisory and Lifecycle Resilience Services practice.
Sanchez will join the company's executive team and lead a newly integrated portfolio of strategy consulting and operational resilience services as part of Black & Veatch's ongoing commitment to driving end-to-end transformational enablement for its clients. This key enhancement comes after Black & Veatch saw how a fully integrated lifecycle view, from investment to operations to optimization, is driving resilience and competitive advantage for its clients.
This senior leadership appointment marks another milestone in Black & Veatch's strategic transformation to further strengthen how we support our customers as a comprehensive partner. As an investment in the future challenges of heavy industry, Black & Veatch aims to enhance how we enable the ecosystem collaboration our customers need to succeed on their transformation journeys. Together, the two companies want to develop new ways to optimize critical capital investment decisions related to asset lifecycle management, decarbonization, broader ESG initiatives, industrial cybersecurity and resilience, and ultimately commercial excellence.
With over 25 years of global experience, he most recently held senior management roles in the global consulting practice of Deloitte and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Prior to becoming a consultant, he was an industry and software technology executive with extensive experience across multiple industries in strategy, operating model design, process innovation, data science and artificial intelligence (AI), digitalization, risk management and regulatory compliance. He is a frequent author and sought-after speaker on innovation, business transformation, generative AI and digital economy trends, and has led Fortune 500 companies through their toughest challenges to deliver profitable business performance improvements.
“Charlie brings a unique combination of industry experience, leading thought leadership and consultative client engagement,” said Mario Azar, chairman and CEO of Black & Veatch, “which is the foundation of how Black & Veatch objectively advises clients on developing and executing sustainability strategies across the entire asset lifecycle, from roadmaps to bankability to optimizing ecosystem resilience.”
In his new role, Sanchez will lead a global team with a diverse portfolio of deep industry expertise including transactional, regulatory, decarbonization, digital infrastructure design and delivery, cybersecurity resilience and real-time asset optimization. Black & Veatch uniquely combines objective early stage advisory consulting services with practical insights, capabilities and lessons learned from the perspective of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company that has designed large-scale projects in innovative ways and continuously evaluates the latest technologies and business models.
“Black & Veatch has always been a go-to game-changer in the sustainability market,” said Sanchez. “I am thrilled to join this innovative and talented team at this pivotal time when it is essential for us to be an agile partner to which our clients entrust their most valuable strategies, investments and operations.”
