Eiza Gonzalez has risen above recent criticism of Jennifer Lopez for “bullying” her, calling the public's reaction “nasty.”
The actress and singer posted a text to her Instagram Story on Friday, criticizing Jennifer Lopez for her actions.
“The level of bullying this woman has endured over the past few months is extremely disturbing and heartbreaking. It is impossible to complain about mean people and then enjoy being mean to them,” Gonzalez said.
In her story, Gonzalez re-shared an article about Lopez canceling her summer tour, adding that “the world is a complicated place” and “we don't know what people are going through.”
“We are human, we make mistakes, and some of us have personal issues and need to be perfect in the public eye all the time. The best thing we can do right now is be kind,” the 3 Body Problem actress wrote.

Eiza Gonzalez defends Jennifer Lopez after the pop star canceled her summer tour on Friday
The comments on her Instagram Story came shortly after Lopez canceled her first North American summer tour in five years on Friday, just weeks before the tour was set to hit the road.
The pop star made the announcement on Friday in her fan newsletter, On The JLo, saying, “Representatives from Live Nation announced today that Jennifer Lopez's summer 2024 U.S. tour, 'This Is Me… Live,' has been canceled. The reason is… 'Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.'”
Tickets for the tour were automatically refunded to fans, and the statement was accompanied by a personal message saying, “A special message to JLovers from OnTheJLo.”
“I am truly hurt and devastated that I have let you all down. Please know that I would not do this if I did not feel it was absolutely necessary. I promise we will make it up to you and get back together,” Lopez wrote. “I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Lopez has also been the subject of widespread speculation in recent weeks after multiple media reports suggested her marriage to Ben Affleck of nearly two years may be on the rocks following their separation.
On May 16, the pair were photographed by paparazzi together for the first time in over a month, with both A-list stars spotted wearing wedding rings. The couple has been engaged twice, once in 2002 and once in 2021.
The couple reunited after separate marriages and delighted fans with a late-night wedding in Las Vegas in July 2022. Lopez called it “the best wedding we could have ever imagined.”
