FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A group of young entrepreneurs have launched a successful meal prep business, Boarding Pass Eats, serving Central Valley cuisine from around the world.
“We love to travel, we love to eat, we're always trying new things, and we want to bring that home with us,” co-founder Theresa Maloney said.
Action News caught up with Theresia and Alden Maloney, a married couple preparing the curried coconut chicken at Clovis Culinary Kitchen.
The siblings grew up in a family of professional chefs and home cooks and take pride in putting their own unique spin on cuisines from around the world.
“I've always looked up to my mother and grandfather as the best chefs in the world,” Theresa says. “This is something that brings me and my family so much joy and it's something we've wanted to do for a long time but never had the courage to take the next step.”
The young entrepreneurs launched their meal preparation service in April this year.
“Growing up in the kitchen with our moms cooking, this was always something that came easily to us, so it just seemed natural to us,” co-founder Alden Maloney said.
Teresia adds, “We love sharing the flavors with our community and letting people know that they don't have to sacrifice the flavors of their cultural cuisine to achieve their dietary and nutritional goals.”
Ordering is easy, just go to boardingpasseats.com .
The menu is updated weekly and there are three to four meals to choose from.
Customize a 3-, 5-, 7-, or 10-day plan based on your selections and dietary restrictions.
“They simply select their meal option online, pay online and their meal is ready for them the same day,” Alden said.
As for sibling rivalry, it's not present in the kitchen, where Alden and Terisia do their share of fighting.
“She's usually on the stove cooking and I'm in the back washing dishes, packing meals and chopping vegetables,” Alden says.
From the vibrant colors to the thoughtfully portioned meals, you'll know the presentation is top notch.
“You eat with your eyes first,” Theresa says. “It might taste great, but if it doesn't look good, I'm not going to eat it.”
We currently have delivery options in the Fresno/Clovis area and pickup by appointment is also available.
