Hairstyles dominated the celebrity beauty world last week, thanks to a few unique styles. On one hand, edgy Bantu knots and braids provided major inspiration, while on the other, inverted bobs and curls added softness. Makeup took a back seat, but several styles highlighted the volume of hair, including smoky wings, muted brows and pronounced eyeshadow.
At the top of the feed, Fenty Hair's Rihanna pairs a “retired” T-shirt with floppy blonde braids held in place by pearl clips (as if she's just shaken off her wig). Her relaxed look is contrasted with Doechee's Bantu knots and bangs (a Lua FW24 villager look) and supermodel Aweng Tuol's knots replaced with bolts. Later, Tyra shows off bohemian-inspired braids that flow against shimmery skin (think Fenty Beauty diamond veil), while artists JT and Ravyn Renée show off orange-toned styles.
Acolyte Jodie Turner-Smith paired her super short bob with sweet, rosy makeup and nearly vanished brows. For added drama, Doja Cat's eyebrows were thinner and outlined with golden yellow eyeshadow smudged to the brow bone. And what about Aoki Lee Simmons? Modeling for Alexander Wang, she evoked her mother's beauty with a more neutral look and Isamaya Beauty Lipstick.
