June 11, 2024 | 6:09 PM ET
Alice Cooper has launched his latest campaign for the US presidency, announcing his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election. Before you get too excited about the prospect of the shock rocker occupying the Oval Office, he's ironically run for president every four years since 1972.
At 76, Cooper will be the youngest of current candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and the only one of the three to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Cooper launched his first campaign in 1972, coinciding with the release of his now-classic single “Elected.” “I'm your finest meat, your choice/I wanna be chosen/I'm your Yankee Doodle Dandy in a gold Rolls Royce/I wanna be chosen.”
As for his plans for the 2024 presidential election, he declared in a recently released campaign video: “I'm Alice Cooper, a troubled man living in troubled times. I have no idea what to do, so I'm going to have to adapt.”
The caption encourages members of the rock icon's wild party to “sign up at AliceforPresident.com to receive updates on the campaign launch, ongoing virtual rallies, Q&A sessions and more.”
Cooper will be campaigning on a summer US tour performing with Rob Zombie and supporting with politically-minded bands Ministry and Filter. Before that, he'll embark on a solo US headlining tour at the start of the summer, giving him plenty of time to meet American voters face-to-face. Tickets for both tours are available to buy here.
