Miami – A bagel shop in downtown Miami has once again been the target of vandalism.
Josh Knodel, owner of Holy Bagels & Pizzeria at 93 NW First St., told Local 10 News that one of his businesses was attacked for the fourth time over the weekend.
Dozens of volunteers came together to remove graffiti that read, “Liberate Palestine, End the Genocide.”
Surveillance camera footage obtained by Local 10 News shows the suspect spray-painting a message on the front window of the business.
“It's unbelievable,” Nodel said. “This is an act of violence against the Jewish state and an act of violence against the laws of the state of Florida.”
“The whole community has been supporting me,” Nordell added. “I've had a lot of different calls coming from different quarters.”
Nordell reported that in December, Bagel Time Cafe at 3915 Alton Road saw the first vandalism of Israeli and American flags by a different suspect since the start of the Middle East war.
Police arrested a suspect in one of the cases.
But despite the recent crimes, locals say they are determined to continue demonstrating their pride as Americans and Jews.
“We are one community. We support Israel. We Jews will not be silent like we were in 1941. God bless America,” the judge said outside the courthouse next to a bagel shop in downtown Miami.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
