Elon Musk recently shared some of his favorite podcasts, and spoiler alert, most of them are about history.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO was asked to recommend podcasts on his Platform X (formerly Twitter) stream last week.
“I love history podcasts in general,” he said, according to one of the Tesla fans who put together the five-hour livestream. “I just love history. Any story is really just a story, a story about reality, or at least someone's perception of reality.”
Musk has called the podcast “Explorers Podcast,” and according to its website, it focuses on “the lives, explorations, and discoveries of history's greatest explorers.” He's also a fan of “The Age of Napoleon Podcast,” which is said to focus on “the life and career of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the general condition of Europe in the early 18th and early 19th centuries.”
Musk said Dan Carlin's podcast “Hardcore History,” known for its “unique combination of high drama, brilliant narration and Twilight Zone-style twists,” according to its Apple Podcasts page, is “probably my top recommendation.”
Musk also shared some of his favorite books in another audiobook format, saying he likes Will and Ariel Durant's “The Story of Civilization” and Penguin's “The Iliad.”
Musk has recommended several other books over the years, including science fiction novels and books about artificial intelligence.
