Justin Timberlake was arrested in the Hamptons on suspicion of drunk driving, authorities said.
The 43-year-old 10-time Grammy Award winner was apparently arrested Monday night in Sag Harbor, a wealthy Hamptons neighborhood on Long Island known as a popular celebrity tourist destination in the summer.
Timberlake, who rose to fame in Disney's “Mouseketeers” and went on to become one of the biggest pop stars of the '90s and 2000s, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said: Newsday Timberlake was arrested, and a Sag Harbor court clerk confirmed to the outlet that the charge was for DUI.
The circumstances of the arrest, which was not immediately released, came in the middle of the “Sexyback” singer's “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” which features two concerts at Chicago's United Center on June 21 and 22. Timberlake will then return to New York for two shows at Madison Square Garden.
He made headlines earlier this week when he paused a performance to help a fan who needed medical assistance.
“The venue is lit up. Thank you! Everyone please hold on a moment, I need help here about five rows back,” he said in video footage of the incident.
“OK, fine,” he kept saying, but the fans seemed to signal him back.
