Thursday's showdown between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump could be the most influential presidential debate in decades. Here's how to watch it.
MOLINE, Ill. — Thursday's showdown between Democrat President Joe Biden and former Republican President Donald Trump could be the most consequential presidential debate in decades.
Biden is desperately trying to build momentum amid concerns about his age and leadership on key foreign and domestic policy issues, while Trump will likely take the stage full of confidence despite being the only debate participant to have been convicted of a felony.
Each candidate has obvious flaws that their opponents can exploit, creating huge opportunities and risks for themselves. Missteps will be hard to quickly undo or recover from. The next debate isn't until September.
President Biden won the coin toss and was chosen to sit at the podium to the right of the television screens, while former President Trump was able to choose his turn to deliver closing remarks and opted to deliver the final words.
