President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will debate in the first of the 2024 presidential election this week. The presidential debate will take place on Thursday, June 27th at 9pm ET/8pm CST from CNN's studios in Georgia.

CNN's Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will host the first presidential debate of 2024, according to the CNN press room.
What are the rules for the CNN presidential debates?
In addition to not allowing an audience in the studio, the two campaigns have agreed not to interact with campaign staff, use notes or interrupt each other during the debate, according to a CNN statement. Microphones will be muted except when candidates are speaking. The network said the moderators will “take all necessary steps to ensure punctuality and a civil debate.”
Who will run for president in 2024?
In addition to Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running as an independent and Chase Oliver is running for the Libertarian Party. Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Oliver will not participate in the debate.
When is the second presidential debate?
The second debate is scheduled for September 10 and will be hosted by ABC. As of June 2024, details about the location and moderator of the ABC-hosted debate have not been announced.
When do we vote in the presidential election?
The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 5th.
2024 New York Primary Election: What you need to know
The primary election will be held on Tuesday, June 25. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Am I eligible to vote in New York?
In each party's primary election, only registered members can vote. The qualifications to vote in New York are:
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Not be incarcerated for a felony conviction.
- Not claiming the right to vote elsewhere.
- and not be found incompetent by a court.
