With all eyes on the fall 2024 haute couture shows before the Olympic Games kick off in Paris, designers already seem to be entering into their own competition to see who can pack the most stars into the front row.
At Dior, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri started the event strong with a homage to Ancient Rome, including draped sheaths worthy of the Colosseum and singlets worn over gladiator sandals. Attendees included Lucie de la Falaise, Alex Rivière, Doja Cat and Jennifer Lopez.
Lopez looked the very definition of a chic French couture client in a tonal brown overcoat and New Look dress, accessorized with a black Lady Dior bag dangling from her arm.
Meanwhile, Thom Browne continued to drum up support from Gen Z. Joining his ranks of preppy fashion icons were actors Evan Mock, Emma Myers and Omar Ayuso, who sat side by side posing for the cameras in the American designer's trademark plaids and pleated skirts.
On the runway, Brown X-rayed the fabrics of his haute couture, most of which were made from toile canvas, a true Olympic-caliber feat of tailoring and execution for the American designer's accomplished petit-main.
Other notable guests at Brown's show included Teyana Taylor and Serena Williams, the latter of whom wore a crimson bustier studded with embroidery in the shape of Brown's dachshund, Hector.
