The first debate of 2020 was a big success, but no one knows how the showdown between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will play out on Thursday.
The timing of the rematch four years later is unique: Presidential debates typically take place in September and October after the candidates are formally nominated.
Trump may attack Biden for his age (81) and his issues with inflation and immigration. Biden may also play the age card against Trump, who is 78. Biden is also likely to question Trump about his criminal convictions and his stance on abortion.
CNN has rules to thwart drama, but the incident could still offer insight into how the rest of the 2024 presidential election will unfold.
