Martin's daughter, Maggie Mull (born with his wife) Wendy Haas — announced her father's death on Instagram on Friday, June 28. “I am heartbroken to share that after a long illness, my father passed away on June 27th at his home,” she captioned a photo of the late actor petting his dog.
“My dad excelled in every creative field imaginable and was famous for his Red Roof Inn commercials,” she continued. “He thought those jokes were funny – there was never a time when he wasn't funny. He will be deeply missed by his wife and daughters, friends, colleagues, fellow artists, comedians, musicians and, as a testament to what a great person he was, a whole host of dogs. I loved him very much.”

Martin and Haas married in 1982 and were married for 41 years. Maggie followed in her father's footsteps into the entertainment industry, working as a producer on shows like The Hunger Games, The News and the News Show, and more. Sabrina the Teenage Witch Star Melissa Joan Hart On Friday, she shared a tribute to Martin on Instagram: “Rest in peace my friend. The amazing #MartinMull (Principal Craft) has passed away,” she captioned a photo of the two of them on set. “I have such fond memories of working with him and being in awe of his vast body of work.”
She continued, “He once told me he would take any job he was offered in case the train ever stopped – and in this industry trains stop at any moment. But he was an artist who loved to paint and make things with his hands, a musician and an incredible person. I got to know him and while I will miss him, the world was blessed to have him in it. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I will always treasure the Martin Mahr artwork that hangs in my home!”
