Television actress Hina Khan announced on Friday that she has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. In an Instagram post, she said she has started treatment and is “doing well” and is “trying everything” to beat the disease. In recent years, many celebrities have spoken publicly about their experiences with breast cancer. One of them is actress Mahima Chaudhry. In 2018, Ayushmann Khurrana's wife, film director Tahira Kashyap, braved a stage 0 breast cancer diagnosis and underwent a mastectomy to beat the disease. In an Instagram post at the time, she wrote, “I was diagnosed with DCIS (intraductal carcinoma) in my right breast, which is highly malignant cells. Simply put, it's stage 0 cancer/pre-cancerous stage where cancer cells grow in a limited area. As a result, I have become a half-Indian Angelina Jolie (as only one breast was affected). In 2024, Hollywood actress Olivia Munn said she had been diagnosed with breast cancer the previous year during a routine mammogram. She thanked her doctor for recommending an MRI scan based on several risk factors, including a family history of breast cancer. That MRI scan led to an ultrasound and biopsy, which confirmed the diagnosis. (AFP)
