Jamie Foxx is revealing new details about unspecified “medical complications” he experienced last year.
In an undated video circulating on social media and posted by accounts such as @ArtOfDialogue_, the Oscar-winning actor appears to be discussing with fans the status of the health issues that have caused his recovery to take several months.
Fox, 56, said in the video that on April 11, 2023, she had a “terrible headache” and “asked my son for Advil,” adding that she “was away from home for 20 days after that.”
He continued, “I don't remember anything. I'm in Atlanta. My sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor, who gave me a cortisone shot. The next doctor said, 'There's something going on down there.'”
Pointing to his head, Foxx explained that he wouldn't provide any further details “on camera.”

What happened to Jamie Foxx?
After sharing multiple updates about her recovery on Instagram, Fox made her first public appearance in December to accept the Vanguard Award at the Critics Association's Film and TV Celebration: Black, Latino and Asian American Achievement Awards.
At the time, he revealed that six months earlier he “couldn't actually walk.”
“I'm happy to be here,” he said. “I'm cherishing every moment now. It's different. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to go through what I went through because it's painful that it's almost over. … I could see the tunnel. I couldn't see the light. It was hot in the tunnel. I didn't know where I was going.”
“Is this where I should be? I can see the devil saying 'hey man',” Fox joked.
On April 12, his daughter, Corinne Fox, revealed that the Ray actor had “experienced medical complications” and was recovering.
“Thankfully, thanks to the quick response and great care, he is already on the road to recovery,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “We know how loved he is and we appreciate everyone's prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
A few months later, in July, Jamie Foxx posted a video to social media to assure fans that he was on the road to recovery.
“I never wanted you all to see me with tubes out of my body wondering if I was going to make it through this,” he said in an Instagram post on July 21. “I've been through hell and have had some bumps in the road to recovery but I will be back.”
He added: “It's been tough, I've been feeling really sick, but I'm feeling better now and I can see you all.”
