BUTLER, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro announced Sunday that the man killed at a rally for former President Donald Trump was Corey Comperatore.
Comperatore was a former fire chief from the area who loved his family and “died a hero,” Shapiro said.

“His wife told me he jumped in to protect his family,” the governor said, who declined to comment on the condition of the other two injured.
The governor also ordered flags flown at half-staff in Comperatore's memory.
Buffalo Township Fire Department Chairman Randy Reimer called Comperatore an “upstanding man” and a “true brother in the fire department.”
Comperatore served as the company's chief executive for about three years, but was also a life member, meaning he had been there for more than 20 years, he said.
“He was just a wonderful man. He was always trying to help somebody,” Reimer said of Comperatore, who leaves behind a wife and two daughters. “He stuck to his guns and didn't give in to anybody. … He was just a really good guy.”
