Celebrities across Hollywood are paying tribute following Bob Newhart's death.
The Bob Newhart Show The star passed away on Thursday, July 18, at the age of 94, his publicist Jerry Digney confirmed to People magazine. Newhart died at his Los Angeles home after several bouts with illness.
The news prompted a series of tributes in People magazine and shared on social media paying tribute to Newhart, his deadpan comedy skills and his legendary legacy in Hollywood.
The Big Bang Theory Mayim Bialik, who guest-starred as Professor Proton on the hit CBS sitcom from 2013 to 2018, mourned Newhart in an exclusive statement to People magazine.
“As a child, The Bob Newhart Show It has given me countless hours of entertainment and it was part of my initial training in the art of the sitcom. TBBT“It was truly a dream come true,” she said. “He was naturally professional, poised, funny and incredibly personable. Working with Bob was like working with a true comedy legend who we no longer see, and I will truly miss him!”
Young Sheldon Star Iain Armitage also remembered Newhart, who played Professor Proton on the CBS sitcom spinoff, in a statement to People magazine. “Bob's Professor Proton inspired Sheldon, and his career as an actor inspired me. He is beloved and will be missed,” Armitage, 16, said.

The Big Bang Theory Star Kaley Cuoco shared a heartwarming message for the late actor on her Instagram Story.
“It was a dream come true to witness the genius that was Bob Newhart. He was classy, kind, generous and so funny. Every take, every moment. An eternal icon 💔,” Cuoco wrote in her Story, adding in another post, “Bob we'll never forget you! Thank you for making our dreams come true!”
The Big Bang Theory Co-creator Bill Prady shared a message for the late icon. X (Previously on Twitter): “It's hard to explain how important Bob Newhart was to all the comedians and comedy writers who followed in his footsteps,” he added, “Working with him for just a short time was one of the great pleasures and honors of my life.”

Alec Baldwin shared a short but heartwarming message for the late comedian. “Farewell to the great Bob Newhart…” he wrote on Instagram.
Jamie Lee Curtis also posted on Instagram, writing, “After they leave us they will be laughing wherever people go. Oh he was funny! Bob Newhart. We will miss you!”
