A mysterious tech mogul is the owner of the £5 million 'Barbie' superyacht, which wows lucky guests with its 70s-inspired interior.
The distinctive pink catamaran was brought to life by luxury yacht designers and also features a 54 square meter saloon and velvet carpets.
The 24.6 meter aluminum vessel looks like it came straight out of a Barbie movie, with its pink body gliding through a crystal blue ocean.
However, the boat's name and owner remain a mystery, with social media users suggesting her name may be “Cotton Candy” or “Pink Panther.”
Turkish construction company Vision F Yachts launched the pink vessel earlier this year, and it was quickly picked up by an international technology entrepreneur, according to reports.
Pretty in Pink's accommodations include space for eight guests in four cabins, with an additional crew of five.
The starboard hull contains a large master stateroom, twin-single guest staterooms, and crew cabin.
Meanwhile, the port hull houses the galley and two luxurious en-suite guest staterooms forward, with a crew cabin in the bow.
The striking pink color scheme bids a bright farewell to the company's 80 class of superyachts, the third version of which now features an all-black exterior.
The decor pays homage to the '70s with plush velvet carpeting, round sofa chairs, and integrated lighting.
The features within the container maintain the pink theme, using shades ranging from baby pink to dusty pink.
Elegant fixed furniture was also manufactured in-house, with designer pieces provided by RoveConcepts, Moro, Crate & Barrel, Kravet, Paola Lenti and Farrow & Ball.
The stern platform can be lowered for easy access to the water, allowing the small jet boat, also pink, to take to the water.
However, if the draft is shallow, less than 1 meter, the catamaran itself can navigate shallow waters and reach remote bays.
The yacht has a flybridge, external helm station and sunpad for sunbathing.
The sunpad is upholstered with weather-resistant fabric so you can sit back and relax while soaking up the rays and enjoying the panoramic views from the deck.
Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050 drives, the VisionF 80 reaches a top speed of 18 knots and has a range of over 1,800 nautical miles.
Ali Tanir, general manager of VisionF Yacht, expressed his pleasure in working with the various stakeholders on this unique project.
“I'm very happy to have been involved in this project from its implementation stage. She is truly one of a kind,” he said.
“Pretty In Pink” is the culmination of the Vision F80 series, but VisionF Yachts is already looking to the future.
Three units of the new VisionF 82 series are currently under construction and will be launched in winter 2023/2024.
These ships promise to build on the tradition of innovation and individuality exemplified by Pretty in Pink.
But the Barbie Dreamhouse Yacht isn't the only ship that's been getting attention lately.
In September, an ultra-green 270-foot superyacht was unveiled that runs on wind and solar power and has enough space for an onboard nightclub.
It was designed by Feedship, a yacht builder based in the Netherlands that has been in business for 74 years.
The ship, named Dune, will use wind and solar energy to reduce emissions and be climate-friendly.
