Various posts were posted on social media to celebrate Palm Sunday, a Christian holiday.
Actor Mark Wahlberg teamed up with the Christian app Hallow to share a post ahead of Christmas asking people how they choose Christ each day.
“To follow Jesus, you have to make a conscious choice to put your relationship with Jesus above all else,” Walberg says. “When we deny ourselves what separates us from God, we begin to see more clearly the cross that God is calling us to bear.”
Palm Sunday occurs one week before Easter and is intended to commemorate the beginning of the last week of the life of Jesus Christ.
Several politicians also celebrated the holiday on social media.
“Wishing you all a blessed Palm Sunday,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) wrote on X.
“John 12:13 The people went out to meet Jesus with palm branches and cried out, “Hosanna!” “Blessed are those who come in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!” wrote House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana).
“Karen Pence and I wish fellow Christians in America and around the world a blessed Palm Sunday. 'Hosanna!' Blessed are those who come in the name of the Lord!” said former Deputy Mike Pence. the president wrote.

The Easter holiday next Sunday marks the culmination of Lent, a period of fasting, prayer and almsgiving for Christians. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which falls on Valentine's Day this year, and ends on the Thursday just before Good Friday.
Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox each year.
