TikTok's rich people are ridiculed for 'missing the point' of movie Saltburn.
Emerald Fennell's class satire has become a social media sensation since its release on Amazon Prime Video last month, with viewers captivated by the lavish lifestyles of the film's fabulously wealthy characters. I noticed that it was happening.
Barry Keoghan plays Oliver Quick, a middle-class interloper who poses as a working-class scholarship student in order to strike up a friendship with Felix Catton, a wealthy Oxford aristocrat played by Jacob Elordi.
Oliver is eventually invited by Felix to spend the summer at his parents' home called Saltburn, a large mansion in the English countryside.
At the end of the film, Oliver dances naked around the Saltburn mansion to Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dance Floor, moving through the various luxurious rooms and hallways of the property.
Wealthy TikTok users have since recreated Kogan's dance on the social media platform, using it as an opportunity to show off their luxurious homes.
