It has been revealed that Chance the Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corey are preparing for divorce after five years of marriage.
The former couple announced their breakup in a joint statement posted to Chance's Instagram Stories on Wednesday.
“After a period of separation, we have both come to the decision to separate,” the statement read. “We have come to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we have spent together.”
The couple have two daughters, Kensli, 8, and Marley Grace, 4, and they plan to “raise them together.”
“We ask for your privacy and respect as we navigate this transition,” the statement concludes.

Chance and Corey got married in March 2019. The couple reportedly exchanged vows at a ceremony in Newport Beach, California. According to the Chicago Tribune, the marriage certificate shows the couple married in a civil ceremony in Chicago on December 27, 2018.
Days before the wedding, Chance admitted that he and Corey got married in an X-thread about how he met his soon-to-be bride. He said the two met in 2003, when he was 9 years old, at a party at his mother's office.
