IPG's Danville Manufacturing Plant Receives True Zero Waste Certification
SARASOTA, Fla., April 11, 2024 (Globe Newswire) — IPG (Intertape Polymer Group) has a manufacturing facility in Danville, Virginia that produces carton seal tape, stretch film, air pillows, and polyethylene (PE) tape. announced that it has been discontinued. Achieved TRUE Zero Waste Certification based on the TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) rating system. Managed by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), TRUE helps facilities measure, improve, and recognize their zero waste performance by encouraging the adoption of sustainable waste management and reduction practices. The Danville, Virginia, facility is the first IPG manufacturing plant to receive this certification. The IPG Danville team has implemented numerous recycling initiatives over the years and currently has a diversion rate of 97.5%. In 2023, the factory diverted more than 16 million pounds of material from landfills, primarily through recycling efforts. By implementing a true zero waste program, the factory strengthened its already strong zero waste culture.

Additionally, this IPG manufacturing facility has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze certification for its carton sealing tape and Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver status for its stretch film. IPG is a series of evaluations that evaluate these products for their material health, material reuse, amount of renewable energy consumed in manufacturing the products, management of water used in production, and compliance with social equity standards. has gone through a rigorous certification process for prescribed tests.
